As they enter puberty, teens and pre-teens in Laos have the same feelings, questions, and concerns as those in other countries, but with far less access to accurate information.
This book addresses all aspects of puberty, including physical changes in the breasts, genitals and other areas, menstruation, sexually-transmitted diseases, and an overview of the reproductive system.
It also addresses some issues distinct to this part of the world. For example, young people often feel they will be more attractive if they have lighter skin; many times they buy harsh skin whiteners because they don't know about the permanent damage that can result.
