Good health care can be expensive. But one step to better health is free: Breastfeeding.
Mothers' milk gives babies the full supply of nutrients they need. It strengthens the baby's immune system. It doesn't consume money that a poor family needs for other things. But corporations push baby formula, and with no way to know otherwise, many young mothers think the formula must be better.
With pictures and short, simple text, this booklet tells young parents why breastfeeding is best, and explains how the most common difficulties, such as the mother not producing enough milk at first, are easily overcome.
