In Laos, the New Year Festival is the biggest holiday of the year. It comes in the middle of April. The Hmong New Year (usually early December) is equally festive.
There's also the fire boat festival and the boat races. And the rocket festival, in which homemade bamboo rockets are shot into the air, hopefully to land in an empty field somewhere. Souliphone's coloring book shows them all, along with brief captions, ready to be colored.
