The Tai Dam are one of many ethnic groups in Laos, with a strong presence in Luang Namtha province. Here, through photographs and short, simple sentences, a Tai Dam girl describes her daily life. She carries water from the well; her mother cuts up a jackfruit; her uncle plows the field.
While enjoyable for readers of all ages and ethnic groups, this book particularly helps young Tai Dam children who don't use the Lao language in their home, as they learn to read and speak it.
