The Ant and the Elephant

The Hmong are one of the largest ethnic minorities in Laos, with a long and rich tradition. Many rural children speak the Hmong language with their family at home, then they learn Lao as a second language when they begin school.

Three of our past and present Hmong staff have written favorite stories from their childhood, so they can be enjoyed by schoolchildren today as well as future generations.

by James Xiong, Somboun Keomanyvong and Lengly Herchualy, illustrated by Kongsoua Sengli, Vue Thor and Lengly Herchualy
