Heidi

Some stories travel well. Heidi, the tale of an orphan girl who goes to live with her grandfather in the Swiss Alps, is immensely popular in Japan, and we expect it to be enjoyed in our own mountain-filled, landlocked country. Our Lao translation is charmingly illustrated by Kongkien, a young man who is deaf, and whose primary job is teaching sign language at our schools (children love learning it), who also likes to draw.
