It has also brought a new type of addiction, particularly to countries such as Laos where most parents think it's terrific to have such a low-cost babysitter for their 3-year-old, and aren't aware of the downsides. Here, we've looked at when phones are, and are not, appropriate, and suggested steps for parents.
