A blue horse... a striped buffalo... and a mushroom-picking duck. What do they have in common? First, in Lao, each animal has a cat-in-the-hat style rhyming name. Second, they each want to know why that chicken (gai nyai) is so big. This is a slightly condensed version of our easiest storybook, using just 12 vowels (Lao vowels are more complex than consonants), memorable characters, and a touch of suspense.
