Luang PrabangBig Brother Mouse is based in Luang Prabang, the former capital of Laos and a UNESCO World Heritage site. This is where we produce our books, and we're happy to show visitors what we're doing. We have two locations in Luang Prabang. Stop by if you're in town! At our bookstore you can buy books to take when you visit villages in Laos, or bring our bilingual (Lao and English) books back home as a unique gift for kids. It's a great way of introducing them to another culture. Most books cost just 15,000 kip each (about $1.80 U.S.). Additional donations are welcome. While you're in Luang Prabang, there are also other ways for you to get involved. We have two locations in Luang Prabang. To reach our bookstore, walk down the main street, towards the end of the peninsula. Turn left past the National Museum, right at the first street, and we're on the right a few doors after the temple. To reach our second office, continue towards the end of the peninsula two and a half blocks on the same street, then turn right (after passing Wat Nong, a beautiful temple). We're a few doors from the end of the street, on the right. You can volunteer here at our English language drop-in center or buy books. Hotel reservations: Visitors periodically ask if we can help with hotel recommendations and reservations or travel information. Sorry, we cannot, we have enough to do already. We suggest using the Luang Prabang Hotels reservation site. 
VientianeOur office and shop in Vientiane has all our books for sale. The staff of five does many of our translations, and attends festivals and conferences in Vientiane to display our books. We're on the short street that runs inland from the Mekong River to Setthatilat Rd., up the street from Sticky Fingers and Full Moon restaurants, and roughly across the street from Wat Mixay. SavannakhetYou can buy most of our books in Savannakhet at the Lingocom Center. It is about halfway between Savannakhet's downtown and the bus station. Go north along the river road past the park and the old stadium. Turn right at the Shell gas station. Lingocom Center is another 50 meters on the right.
Udom XaiIn Udom Xai, Big Brother Mouse books are available at Samlaan Cycling. Coming into town from the south (such as from Luang Prabang), your road will seem to end as you enter town. Turn left, then look for Samlaan Cycling on the right, just before the next intersection.
Luang NamthaOur books are available at Lao Natural and Cultural Eco-guide Service, close to the post office, beside the Dokchan Hotel and opposite of Manychan Guesthouse. |
