Book party: Book parties are one way that Big Brother Mouse gets books to children in rural Lao villages. In primary schools we read from books, play games, sing songs, and have a drawing lesson. In high schools, we have a different set of activities. At the end, every student gets to choose a book, usually the first book they've ever owned. Then we give more to the school, for their library or classroom use.

This event was sponsored by the Australian Embassy (Lao PDR) and Ray Faulkner and Carlos Terra (United States). Thank you!

It looks like there was a battle of the sexes here. Sorry, we don't have a record of who won!

Each book party ends with a presentation of books to the teacher. During the event, one of our staff spends time with the teacher, or teachers, discussing ways to use books in class. Having fun books to use in school is new for them.
