The Mountain Spirits and the Stone Mortars

Long ago, the mountain spirits brought down giant stone mortars, and demanded a high price for them. The townspeople refused: "We have no use for such giant mortars," they said. But the spirits insisted, and had their way; and even today, the giant mortars can be seen.

This ancient folktale may have once explained the Plain of Jars, which to this day remains a mystery. This, and other traditional stories, are collected here, in the second book of an on-going series.
