Here is the first in a planned series of books that will provide interesting and informative reading practice for Laotians who are studying English. In simple English, it tells about the life and culture of the world's first well-documented civilization.

More difficult words are defined in Lao, on the page where they first appear. Each short chapter includes questions to help improve comprehension, and to encourage students to think about the broader issues covered.
