A different approach to stories for new readers
While most of our children's books have fun, colorful illustrations, we're also experimenting with other approaches.
This collection of Aesop's Fables helps children use the words of a story, rather than pictures, to develop each story in their imagination. We use just a single small picture to introduce each story, so that beginning readers will focus in on the printed words. It's written at level five of our "I Can Read!" series, for children who haven't yet learned the full Lao alphabet. The type is large with extra space between words and letters.
